For our 25th year, here are 25 simple tips for making the most of your time on CC and enjoying the experience.

1. Just do it!

If you’ve been holding back on signing up, making a profile or sending a message, this is your sign to overcome the nerves and give it a try. All our success stories have one thing in common: they started on the site or app.

2. Add a photo or two

Profiles with photos attract the most attention. Make sure they’re recent, genuine photos, and smile!

3. Take a little time writing your profile

It doesn’t need to be a novel, but try to share a little about who you are and what matters to you.

4. Refresh your profile if you’ve been here a while!

Perhaps you’ve had a new haircut or started a new hobby. Changing up your photos and information now and then might encourage someone who missed you before to take a second look.

5. Develop your profile detail

Use our question prompts to help make your profile more detailed and engaging. You never know what might catch someone’s eye and be a great conversation starter.

6. Keep your faith front and centre

Share your personal faith journey and what matters to you when it comes to finding a partner. This is core to Christian Connection members and a great foundation.

7. Shout about your passions and interests

Don’t be afraid to share what makes you unique. There’s nothing more compelling than learning what someone else is passionate about, and you may find someone with interests in common.

8. Be positive!

Be clear and positive about what you’re looking for. Positivity can be a magnetic quality!

9. Don’t be afraid to reach out first

Remember, every conversation has to start somewhere and our feedback shows members who regularly reach out first have the most success.

10. Use our profile reactions

If you’re feeling stuck for something to say, you can send a wave, like, or choose to react to a photo or part of their profile with a friendly emoji.

11. Send a message

Genuine, personal messages get the most replies. Try mentioning something you have in common, or asking a polite question.

12. Be curious

Ask open-ended questions once you get talking. You’ll find they spark deeper conversations and really help you get to know each other.

13. Stay open minded

Your perfect partner might not be who you’d expect. Many of our successful couples might have dismissed each other on paper, but once they got to know each other the connection became clear.

14. Be kind

Show kindness in all your interactions, whether they work out or not. It goes a long way.

15. Know your boundaries and learn others

Respect the boundaries of everyone you speak to, and let them know your own. That may mean telling someone you feel more comfortable chatting on the site before exchanging contact details, or discussing who pays for dinner when you meet. Always be clear on what you’re comfortable with, and accept what makes others comfortable.

16. Be patient

It may take time to meet someone, and even with a great connection, sometimes people’s schedules get in the way. Trust in God’s perfect timing.

17. And be prompt!

But try to respond promptly to messages when you can – it really helps the conversation start flowing. If you’re busy, let them know when you’ll be around to chat.

18. Be active

Log in regularly to make new connections. More people will reach out if they see you’re active.

19. Meet in person

Meet up as soon as you’re comfortable. Getting together offline can really help you to find out if there’s a spark. So if you’re enjoying a conversation, why not continue it in person?
