Hello, I just wanted to share our success story :) After many years of being a single missionary abroad working with kids all over the world who were with abandoned or trafficked, I ended up making the decision to stay in the UK permanently after a civil war broke out in Myanmar where I was working and decided to try online dating. After a few nonstarters I met a Scottish guy who seemed really nice. We messaged a little bit until he said maybe long distance wouldn't work as I seemed really settled in West Sussex as suggested we leave it there. I responded thanking him for letting me know but I that I was used to moving around being a missionary and was not as settled as he thought. He quickly backtracked and suggested we have a call. I got the dates wrong and stood him up until I checked CC hours later! After apologising he asked if I still wanted to talk even though it was late. We had a really long, in-depth conversation and there was an instant connection. We had a 5 hour video call a few days later and the rest is history. We have not stopped connecting since and he flew to see me within 7 weeks. His plane was delayed by 3 hours so by the time I met him I was all flustered and couldn't remember where I had parked the car for 20-odd minutes. Thankfully this didn't put him off and we were officially dating as of July 2023. He proposed in our favourite spot in Loch Lomond in the snow the day before New Years eve and we are getting married in July this year! Then I am moving to Scotland. God answers prayer and I could not have asked for a better guy. He was worth the wait.
