Duncan & Lily

Duncan and I met on this amazing site in May/June of 2012. We've had a rocky road over the last near 8 years. We almost called it quits in 2015 after having problems planning a wedding and letting the wedding take over our lives and not focusing on what was important- God being the centre of our marriage. In July 2014 Duncan asked me to marry him at Delamere Forest in Cheshire in England. I was absolutely speechless (most people that know me will testify that's a rare thing!) Once it had sunken in I said a big Yes! After our brief separation in 2015, we decided to take a step back and be boyfriend and girlfriend again but we decided in the spring of 2017 that we did want to get married and the sooner the better! In November 2017 we said I Do in a little Baptist church near where I grew up. The pastor of the church I grew up in married us. He's known me since I was like 2. We have no regrets of not getting married in 2015. There have been many challenges along the way including Duncan having seizures, and with me having severe asthma and being in hospital several times this year. We don't have children yet, but we remain hopeful but also trust that God has a plan for our lives. The one thing we have always appreciated is the advice Duncan's parents gave us 'Don't let the sun go down on your anger'. It's something we hold dear to our hearts. Now in 2020 I'm still the happiest woman on earth just as I was the day we met (both on here and face to face).

One piece of advice for those looking for love:
Be honest with each other and trust each other.
Don't have a big list of high expectations, take the good with the not so good.

One piece of advice for those who have met and have got engaged:
Remember your wedding day is all about you, the vows you are making, and the commitment you are making to each other and to God.
Don't let anyone tell you how you should live. After all God has a plan for your lives, and only the Bible can tell you how to live.
Forgive each other.
